Music Machines 2010

Saturday November 27th 2010 (1pm – 5pm) – $10 door charge

Venue – MAINZ – 150 Victoria Street, Auckland

A one day celebration of electronic music and production bringing together New Zealand’s largest collection of classic synthesiser’s and drum machines. Music Machines 2010 will also focus more heavily on beat making and music production and consists of 4 rooms presented by our new partners for the day.

Room 1: Classic gear

Huge collection of classic and vintage gear plus:

  • Sequential Circuits demo from David Abernethy
  • Interview with Steve Graham owner of an amazing collection of Synths and Drum Machines
  • Korg Monotron duet with Tom Ludvigson and Alan Brown

Room 2: The Technical sessions live

Kerry Adams will be screening some of his recent interviews with international producers plus:

  • Bromide Dub live rig demo with Kerry Adams
  • Interview with Evan Short about his music and productions
  • Interview and Ableton demo with Matt Chicoine (Recloose)
  • Interview with Leon Dahl on his music and synth obsession! (Product Manager Hitech/DJ/PA NZ Rockshop)

Room 3: Rockshop showcases

NZ Rockshop are showcasing some of the latest technology plus:

  • Ableton Live demo with Paddy Free (Pitch Black)
  • NI Maschine demo with Paul Raine
  • Ableton Live demo with Thomas Sahs

Room 4: “The Beat” presented by “Ayebro.co.nz

The boys from Ayebro have put together a great lineup of sessions for beat makers including:

  • Jeremy Toy – MPC3000 beats demo
  • Ayebro Live beat battle
  • Mastering session with Evan Short
  • Producer showcase with Christoph El’ Truento (DJ Truent)

This is your chance to come and play some of these vintage and modern synths, meet some of the collectors and check out some demonstrations and interviews with some of NZ’s top producers and artists.
